Getting ready for lots of seminars

The next few months are going to be really busy for us. Not only do we have a number of students testing for their white sash in a few weeks, but there are a number of great events that are going to be happening in and (sort of) around Rochester.

This weekend we’re traveling to Saratoga New York to participate in the Saratoga Martial Arts Festival. It’s one of the best martial arts festivals held in this part of the country and we’re honored to have Sifu Mark instructing there for the fourth year in a row. Check out SMAF’s site for more information.

Next weekend is the 10th Annual CMAWNY Challenge Tournament in Spencerport New York, hosted by Sa Bum Nim Christopher Gonnoud. More information on this can be found here.

In three weeks, March 8th, Renaissance Martial Arts will be host to the BaGua Extravaganza, being put on by those two BaGuaZhang renegades Sifu Ben Hill, AKA Maoshan, and Novell LaoShi, AKA The Black Taoist. It will be a daylong intensive workshop exploring real martial applications of Cheng & Yin style BaGuaZhang methods for combat.

Then on Saturday, March 22, Sifu Eric Winfree from Syracuse will be in town to kick off the first in a monthly series of seminars on Jeet Kun Do Concepts. These sessions will be specifically geared towards martial artists. For more information on the BaGua Extravaganza or the Jeet Kun Do seminars, please drop us a note.

So, with all this stuff, there’s nothing better to get us in the mood than Thai Martial Arts films. There’s a new one on the way from the director of the amazing Ong Bak. Without further adeu, we give you the Chocolate trailer and a new star whose ready to give Michelle Yeoh a run for her money:
